There is a real need for a fun and safe mobile kids golf activity package that can be used anywhere with any age group to have fun trying the game of golf. The Go–Start–Golf Kit provides this perfect unit that can be taught and used by adults and children of all ages. The game equipment can be used by physically and mentally challenged youth and adults as well. Whether they are in a meeting room, a gymnasium, an athletic field or a chip and putt synthetic green & tee course they will provide a center for the community to build relationships with each other. At a recent family and kids Summit during the PGA golf show kids overwhelmingly said they like golf because they can do it with their friends.
And that’s what this Go–Start–Golf Kit is all about. It can be done with five kids or 30 kids and they’ll all keep busy having fun. Besides the churches there are Parks and Recreation, Boys and Girls Club’s and 8000 country clubs in the US that are using first touch equipment! This will also work perfect for your homeschool parents. And it’s so economical.
Hundreds of elementary schools are already using the First Touch Golf (Snag/Short Golf) equipment in their schools as a life skills program. Basic putting and chipping strokes are used. There are plans for hundreds more to be implemented. For example; one elementary school in Houston has 700 kids that are being exposed to the basics of golf in the life skills program using the first touch equipment. BUT the kids don’t get to play and really learn a whole bunch about golf and have fun!!!
We are in the process of developing some simple programming that will use the two basic golf games and equipment that have been created – Air Golf/ Short Golf. These will be progressively taught so that the kids that come out of these programs ready to move into a junior set of clubs and onto the local
golf courses and into their programming. But it also provides a great tool for the parents to have a lifetime golf relationship with the kids.
Unique Equipment:
The balls (Balz!) used are small soft tennis balls so everything is safe and fun .The equipment used are the new innovative clubs and targets from Short Golf. The clubs are made out of plastic with big oversize heads with rounded off edges, so it is safe. The balls are played off of a rubber mat with a driving range Tee so they can easily be played anywhere off of any surface and they provide success from the very start by getting the ball up in the air.
The basic standard kit contains enough Short Golf equipment to handle any basic youth group 1 - 50 kids. The great thing is adults can do this right along with the kids. Why? Because it contains “four” lengths of clubs able to accommodate two-year-olds to 98-year-olds. And because of its versatility and mobility it can be used indoors or outdoors, in gymnasiums or meeting rooms.
Start off with these 4 basic games:
1. Using AirGolf and playing into the cloth box (or dollar store bucket) hole. You learn about the game of golf and a feeling for the four shots of the Golf as you are playing. We called this the Play-To-Learn golf concept. They can learn all the rules of golf and the terminology as they’re developing the swing feelings. Then there are 15–20 other fun games that can be played indoors or outdoors using AirGolf. So, you have unlimited fun and games! And as you are playing you are developing your golf swing!
2. Use the Velcro rolling target Grabba! for Putting and Chipping. It’s 3 feet long and has sticky Velcro so the balls stick to it and the corresponding numbers for scoring. The Velcro targets are on both sides which can accommodate more kids. Lots of scoring games can be developed here.
3. Using the pop-up dual sided target –Gotcha and Katcha! On one side a sticky Velcro bull’s-eye target for scoring and a net on the other side. This will be used for pitch shots playing the ball off the tee mat and sticking it to the target or pitching it into the net.
4. Lay out the 11 inch round Velcro Mini- Stickas on the ground. Now you can putt to or chip to these targets.
The Training tools:
The kit will include a couple of PowerHanger’s Hanga! for training tools. These will be used to be placed over the elbows to train the kids on the proper balance of the forearms and the feeling of the pendulum motion. If they get this feeling first then they can transfer it to their putting stroke. For the full shots the PowerHanger is attached to the top of the grip and when the club is swung it will automatically set their wrists perfectly for the needed feelings to be developed. Then when the shots are played without the training tool the feelings will be caught and transferred.
The Benefits:
The AirGolf Flyer’s also make excellent training tools to be used for the participants to feel the swinging motion for the four shots of golf.
Mobile- the kit can be broken down into a very small package for easy storage and transport.
